The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in carpentry, excels in a fast paced and organized work environment, and thrives as a collaborative team player. This role involves precise measuring, cutting, installing of hardware and bonding of fiberglass parts. A strong knowledge of and proficiency in using power tools, lifting, pushing and moving heavy objects, are required. This position entails bonding the fiberglass hull, liner and deck together, installing tankage, wiring harnesses, plumbing, thru-hull fittings, cleats, rod holders, lights, etc. and quickly learn. Problem solving abilities. Past boat building experience is preferable. Responsibilities Perform precise measuring, cutting, and bonding of fiberglass parts, including hulls, liners, and decks, to assemble complete boat structures. Install various components such as tankage, wiring harnesses, plumbing systems, thru-hull fittings, cleats, rod holders, lights, hardware, bilge systems, and electronics, ensuring proper integration and functionality. Operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, forklift, and production equipment safely and efficiently to build boat parts, sub-systems, and assemblies. Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and production schedules to ensure accurate assembly and adherence to quality standards. Conduct quality checks, inspections, and troubleshooting throughout the assembly process to identify and resolve issues, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship. Lift, push, pull, and move heavy objects while bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, reaching overhead, and standing for extended periods. Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production deadlines, including pre-delivery inspections and final rigging. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols, hazardous material handling procedures, and company policies. Assist in training new team members on assembly techniques and essential job functions as needed. Handle materials such as fiberglass, composites, plastics, metals, and chemicals common to boat manufacturing, with proper disposal and environmental compliance. Skills and Qualifications Hands-on experience in carpentry, mechanical assembly, plumbing, electrical wiring, or related fields, with a strong preference for prior boat building or marine manufacturing experience. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment forklifts. Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and diagnose assembly issues effectively. Ability to read and understand work orders, and safety documents. Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy loads, repetitive motions, and working in varying environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust, chemicals). Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and meeting production timelines. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude, high dependability, and ability to work independently or collaboratively under minimal supervision. Quick learner with a willingness to adapt to new processes, tools, and techniques. Knowledge of safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and hazardous material handling.
