Overview Millville Glass & Door is seeking an experienced Commercial Storefront Fabricator to join our team in Millville, NJ. We perform our commercial aluminum fabrication in-house and primarily use YKK storefront and entrance systems . We are looking for someone with hands-on commercial storefront fabrication experience who can work independently from shop drawings and project information to determine material requirements, prepare cut lists, and fabricate aluminum storefront systems and entrances. This is not a welding or structural steel fabrication position . Experience with commercial architectural aluminum storefront systems is required. Responsibilities Fabricate commercial aluminum storefront framing and entrance systems from stock lengths Primarily work with YKK commercial storefront and entrance systems Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, elevations, field measurements, and manufacturer information prior to fabrication Determine required aluminum stock lengths and material quantities for each project Develop and verify accurate cut lists Measure, lay out, cut, drill, prep, and assemble aluminum storefront components Fabricate storefront frames, sidelites, transoms, entrance doors, and related components Perform commercial entrance door and hardware preparations Verify material and quantities before beginning fabrication Identify missing, incorrect, or insufficient aluminum, hardware, gaskets, fasteners, or accessories before they cause project delays Verify fabricated dimensions against drawings and field measurements Identify drawing, measurement, or material discrepancies and communicate them before proceeding Label and organize fabricated material by project for field installation Coordinate with project management and field installers regarding fabrication questions or project-specific conditions Assist with maintaining aluminum inventory and identifying stock that needs to be replenished Maintain an organized fabrication/shop area Troubleshoot fabrication issues and help resolve problems before material reaches the job site Qualifications Previous commercial aluminum storefront fabrication experience required Experience fabricating commercial storefront systems from aluminum stock lengths Ability to determine stock-length requirements and create accurate cut lists Ability to read and understand shop drawings, architectural elevations, fabrication drawings, and manufacturer cut sheets Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work from field dimensions Knowledge of commercial storefront framing and entrance door systems Knowledge of commercial entrance door hardware and hardware preparations Experience using commercial aluminum fabrication equipment, saws, drills, punches, and standard shop tools Understanding of how fabricated storefront systems assemble and install in the field Ability to identify missing material, incorrect dimensions, and potential fabrication problems Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned fabrication projects Reliable, organized, and able to manage fabrication priorities YKK storefront and entrance system experience is strongly preferred , as YKK is our primary commercial aluminum system. Experience with Kawneer, Oldcastle/Vistawall, Tubelite, or other commercial architectural aluminum systems is a plus. Commercial glazing or storefront installation experience is also a plus. What We're Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can simply make cuts from a list. The right candidate should be able to review project information, understand what needs to be fabricated, determine the necessary stock lengths and material, verify that the required components are available, and fabricate the project accurately. Our goal is to have an experienced fabricator who can catch material shortages, dimensional discrepancies, and fabrication issues before they become problems in the field.

Job Type:

Full-time Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with extensive YKK storefront and entrance fabrication experience, commercial door hardware preparation experience, and the ability to independently determine stock-length and material requirements.
