  • Job Description
  • The Assembly Technician builds complex equipment and tooling assemblies, using engineering drawings, bills of material, and system schematics to produce high-quality fixtures and mechanical assemblies. This role involves hands-on work with hand tools and basic machine tools in a production environment, following standard assembly practices to ensure reliable and accurate builds.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Build complex equipment and tooling assemblies according to engineering drawings, bills of material, and system schematics.

+ Assemble fixtures and mechanical components using standard assembly practices and established procedures.

+ Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation to complete assemblies accurately.

+ Use hand tools, power tools, and basic machine tools safely and effectively during the assembly process.

+ Perform basic mechanical assembly of parts, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and function.

+ Work with hydraulic and pneumatic components as part of mechanical and production assemblies.

+ Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of tools and components.

+ Follow all safety guidelines and production standards while working on the assembly line or in the shop.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Previous experience building complex equipment and tooling assemblies.

+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and system schematics.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly work.

+ Basic knowledge of components used in the assembly of fixtures and mechanical systems.

+ Ability to operate basic machine tools in a production or assembly environment.

+ Understanding of standard assembly practices and procedures.

+ Mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and production work.

+ Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following technical documentation.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience in automotive or similar mechanical environments is beneficial.

+ Comfort working with a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.

+ Ability to troubleshoot basic assembly issues and suggest improvements.

+ Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

+ Reliable time management and the ability to adapt to variable start times.

+ Commitment to safety and quality in all assembly tasks.

  • This position is based in a production and assembly environment where start times can be scheduled between 6:00 a.

m. and 8:00 a.m. You work primarily with hand tools, power tools, and basic machine tools to assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. The setting is hands-on and shop-floor oriented, requiring adherence to safety procedures and standard assembly practices. You can expect a practical, tool-driven workspace focused on building complex equipment and fixtures with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $30.

00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
