Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Plant Manager to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will support the overall operations of the plant, ensuring production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize production schedules, and uphold quality standards. Your leadership will help foster a culture of lean manufacturing and operational excellence, contributing to the company's growth and success. Responsibilities Assist in managing daily plant operations, including production management, supply chain coordination, and quality control. Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Oversee production scheduling and planning using ERP systems such as SAP or similar Manufacturing Management Systems to meet delivery deadlines. Analyze production data using Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics tools to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for efficiency gains. Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability. Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing management, quality control, and operations management to drive performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities Production & Scheduling:
Create coffee blends, schedule production runs, and coordinate inbound green coffee shipments.
Inventory & Purchasing:
Maintain perpetual inventory for finished products and packaging; perform monthly stock counts; handle purchase order processing and raw material ordering.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Prepare monthly green coffee usage, production totals, AWG accounting, and FOB/P&L reports.
Quality & Compliance:
Comply with and support Safe Quality Food (SQF), HACCP, and sanitation policies; assist with mock recalls and fiscal audits.
Personnel & Team Leadership:
Assist with applicant interviews, personnel resolution, and serve as a key member of the Crisis Management and Food Safety teams. Qualifications Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment. Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and technical troubleshooting abilities. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement techniques. Excellent data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel for tracking operational metrics and making data-driven decisions. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across functions. Ability to manager high-demand operational situations effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently. Effective cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with procurement, quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics teams.
Physical Requirements:
Daily physical attendance on-site, ability to sit for extended periods, lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs, and lift up to 10 lbs overhead. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
