This role will oversee production, workforce management, quality, scheduling, safety and customer project execution. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with technical manufacturing knowledge and the ability to support estimating, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate all aspects of plant operations, including production management, quality control, safety compliance and maintenance. Execute production schedules utilizing ERP/MRP systems to ensure on-time delivery while maximizing labor and equipment utilization. Manage daily shop operations in a welding and fabrication environment, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. Review manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and specifications to support production planning and execution. Prepare estimates and quotations for fabrication and manufacturing projects, working closely with customers and internal teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and implement process improvements based on performance trends. Manage production planning, inventory levels, and workflow to meet customer requirements while maintaining operational efficiency. Foster strong communication and collaboration between production, engineering, quality, purchasing, and customer-facing teams. Develop, mentor, and lead supervisors, leads, and production personnel to build a high-performing and accountable workforce. Ensure compliance with all company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and increased plant performance. Qualifications Required 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including plant, operations, production, or shop management. Strong knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and manufacturing operations. Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing teams and driving results. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Experience managing production schedules, workforce performance, and operational KPIs. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Experience in a custom fabrication, contract manufacturing, or job shop environment. Background in engineering, manufacturing technology, industrial technology, or a related technical field. Experience estimating and quoting fabrication or manufacturing projects. Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and operational reporting. Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing equipment and assembly processes. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, or a related field. We're seeking a leader who is equally comfortable on the shop floor and in the office.
