Job Description

Position Summary:
Career opportunity for an experienced Production Manager - Aerospace, Defense & Space Composite Manufacturing to lead production operations for high-performance composite components and assemblies supporting aerospace, defense and space applications. The Production Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of manufacturing operations , ensuring products are delivered on schedule and exceed customer, engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of aerospace composite manufacturing, disciplined process control, and the ability to lead a skilled production organization. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, Maintenance, and Operations to achieve operational and customer objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives. Manage production leads, technicians, operators, and manufacturing personnel & oversee production of composite structures and assemblies. Execute daily and weekly production priorities based on customer requirements and program schedules. Ensure manufacturing personnel follow approved work instructions, process specifications, drawings, travelers, engineering requirements, and customer flow-downs. Partner with Quality and Engineering to monitor process capability and identify opportunities for improvement. Partner with Program Management, Planning, and Supply Chain to execute production schedules. Drive improvements in areas of First-pass yield, On-time delivery, Scrap and rework.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management 5+ years of manufacturing experience with 3+ years of Production Management , preferably within aerospace, defense, or other similar industries. Demonstrated experience managing production teams in a high-mix, low-volume or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing travelers, work instructions, and controlled processes. Strong understanding of production planning, capacity management, labor utilization, and manufacturing KPIs. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and resolve manufacturing issues.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with NADCAP-accredited processes , particularly composites, NDI/NDT, or special processes. Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements, Experience with ITAR-controlled manufacturing environments . Experience with MIL-SPEC, customer-specific specifications, and aerospace material/process specifications . Experience with autoclaves, ovens, controlled environments, and composite cure processes. Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, aramid, honeycomb, foam core, prepreg, thermoset, and thermoplastic composite systems. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Must be able to work in a controlled environment where quality, configuration, documentation, traceability, and process discipline are critical . Proof of United States Citizenship. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Pay:
$74,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
