Job Overview The Plant Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of a plant's manufacturing operations consistent with cost, profit, productivity, and safety objectives. This position supervises the daily activity of non-exempt manufacturing and support associates. Duties and Responsibilities Participates in the Safety Committee process and ensures that assigned operations are performed consistent with Company and OSHA policies, practices, and procedures. Ensure that all plant assets in area of responsibility are properly managed and safeguarded. Staffs assigned operations to meet production levels consistent with cost objectives and oversees activities directly or through Team Leads. Coaches and develops direct reports, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required. Ensure direct reports have adequate documented training. Creates a work culture that mirrors the company's values. Develops production schedules for area of responsibility, coordinates activity with other areas and forecasts inventory requirements. Monitors output, cuts/yields, and scrap to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required within area of responsibility. Manages inventory in area of responsibility, ensures inventory is rotated in accordance with operational policy, and participates in cycle counts and inventory. Ensures that machinery in area of operation is properly maintained, the plant is clean and organized and inventory is properly stored. Prepares various reports and logs as required. Other duties may be assigned or reassigned at any time. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Analytical thinker, and problem solver. Ability to work independently and supervise others demonstrating good leadership skills. Strong communication skills Proficient in managing multiple tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines Understanding of safety and labor laws, regulations, and company policies Education and Experience Two year's related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required Proficient in MS Office Leadership experience in manufacturing
