Job Overview We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations in Duluth, MN. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of plant performance, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and wants to help scale a growing robotics company from the ground up. Responsibilities Own overall plant performance- production targets, quality metrics, safety record, and operating costs Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production staff across shifts Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies) to increase throughput and reduce waste Manage production scheduling and capacity planning in coordination with engineering, supply chain, and sales Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA) and maintain a strong safety culture on the floor Partner with engineering to support new product introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacturability efforts Create and manage plant budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures Build and maintain a strong hiring pipeline; recruit, onboard, and retain skilled production talent Establish, track and report key operational metrics (OEE, yield, on-time delivery, defect rates) to leadership Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement Qualifications 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including 3 years in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role Proven track record managing production in a manufacturing, industrial equipment, or robotics/automation environment Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Experience managing P&L responsibility for a plant or business unit Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain a hands-on production workforce Solid grasp of safety compliance requirements and building a safety-first culture Strong communication skills, with experience reporting to executive leadership Willingness to be on-site and highly visible on the production floor
