KNITTING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Elastic Therapy, Inc. | Asheboro, NC Compression Hosiery Manufacturing | ~170 employees companywide | 50-60 team members in Knitting across 3 shifts Reports To VP of Operations Direct Reports Technical Manager; Training & Workforce Development Manager; shift leadership Department Knitting - six sets / three shifts Primary Focus Safe, accountable, high-performing execution across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People Position Purpose Lead the entire Knitting operation and create a disciplined, floor-based management system that consistently delivers safety, quality, schedule attainment, productivity and people performance. This role is the single-point operational owner for Knitting and is expected to develop the leadership team, solve recurring problems, and build systems that sustain results without constant senior-leadership intervention. Core Responsibilities

• Own daily and weekly Knitting performance across all three shifts and six knitting sets, including safety, production, quality, downtime, staffing, attendance, labor productivity and schedule attainment.
• Lead and sustain ETI's

daily-management process: visible metrics, short accountability reviews, clear owners, due dates, countermeasures and verification that improvements remain in place.

• Provide strong floor presence across shifts; hold supervisors and team members consistently accountable while maintaining a respectful, positive work environment.
• Manage headcount and labor to actual demand, address chronic attendance/reliability issues with HR, and ensure effective shift handoffs.
• Ensure equipment readiness, process-parameter discipline, SOP/standard-work compliance and timely escalation of maintenance or technical deficiencies.
• Lead continuous improvement using practical Lean/SQDIP methods, Pareto analysis, standard work and structured problem solving; replicate successful practices from the best-performing sets across the room.
• Support integration of acquired equipment/products through training, technical qualification, capacity planning, quality gates and first-run approval.
• Own performance evaluations, coaching, development plans and progressive discipline; distinguish skill gaps from repeated unwillingness to meet expectations and act accordingly. Candidate Profile
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience with 5+ years directly leading hourly employees; multi-shift leadership of roughly 40-100+ employees strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success improving an underperforming manufacturing operation through daily management, metrics, coaching, accountability and process improvement.
• Strong manufacturing quality, root-cause/corrective-action, production planning and frontline performance-management capability.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred; textile, circular-knit, hosiery or other quality-sensitive manufacturing experience is a plus, but leadership capability is more important than being the strongest technical expert.
• Confident leading highly experienced technical employees without becoming intimidated, overly authoritarian or dependent on senior leaders to enforce authority.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, analytical and computer skills; working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

High school diploma/equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Pay:

$70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
