Job Description

On behalf of our client, an innovative manufacturer in the appliance industry, we are looking for an enthusiastic Production Manager.

Our client is a leading manufacturer in the appliance industry, specializing in innovative product and process development. With a global presence, the company operates a manufacturing plant in the New Bern, NC area.
Position Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing all manufacturing, quality, and production planning activities to ensure the achievement of operational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, on-time delivery, and workplace safety. This position oversees a team of approximately 200 employees , with direct responsibility for Production, Quality, and Planning Managers, and indirect leadership of Shift Supervisors and production teams. The role collaborates closely with customers, suppliers, and external auditors and serves as a key member of the plant leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, environmental regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements. Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while overseeing the broader manufacturing organization through subordinate managers and supervisors. Promote and enforce compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and fire prevention regulations. Assume overall responsibility for the execution of the production plan, ensuring targets are achieved in terms of volume, cost, quality, and delivery performance. Monitor and analyze production and quality KPIs, including Customer PPM, scrap rates, OEE, and labor costs, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Manage, motivate, and develop production teams to achieve operational excellence. Participate in capital investment projects, plant development initiatives, and new product introduction activities. Lead continuous improvement programs and process optimization initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, Logistics, and other cross-functional departments to support business objectives.
Qualifications and requirements:
Education Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or production planning environments. At least 3-5 years of leadership experience in a managerial role. Proven experience managing large teams and implementing continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives. Technical Requirements Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, cost management, and OEE performance metrics. Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies. Experience working with ERP systems. Thorough understanding of workplace safety regulations, environmental standards, and ISO requirements. Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating production data and KPI performance. Compensation and Benefits Base Salary Range:
$120,000 - $130,000 annually , commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. Full benefits package including 401(k) matching, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO.
