8/28/26 STE Hackney, Inc., is a $145 million manufacturer of specialized aluminum drop-frame truck bodies and trailers, as well as refrigerated truck bodies and trailers. Headquartered in Washington, NC, the company operates four manufacturing facilities in the continental United States and is owned by Vision Technologies Land Systems, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, Inc.
JOB SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with production of company products utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures and capabilities of machines and equipment. Ensures that a quality product is produced in the most efficient manner, observing and preserving all safety policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Works with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant. 2. Point person working with support functions (scheduling, materials, engineering, QC, Safety/HR) to ensure production targets are achieved. 3. Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety and state and federal guidelines. 4. Define production organizational structures. Project 60-day production status and 120-day staffing plan. 5. Coordinates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. 6. Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. 7. Collaborates with other supervisors to optimize the utilization of Team Coordinators and Team Leaders. 8. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. 9. Recognize talents and areas needing improvement in supervisory staff. Ensure developmental needs are communicated to HR department. Coach supervisors in all areas concerning production and personnel management. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Relevant Technical degree /certification preferred 2. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. 3. Experience with manufacturing of specialty vehicles, trailers, etc., helpful. 4. Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel etc.) 5. Prefer Project Management tools/software experience 6. Self-starter that works well under minimum supervision. 7. A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. 8. Ability to perform short and long range planning. 9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & project and program management skills. 10. Quality oriented. 11. Fabrication and Trailer experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to lift at least 15lbs. infrequently. 2. Ability to remain standing, walk for the greatest part of the shift. The company reserves to right to modify or change the job duties at any time.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
