Job Description

Location Watertown, SD Job Overview The Plant Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and leading manufacturing operations at a growing facility currently operating three shifts. This position oversees production, maintenance operations, budget execution—including capital equipment investments—and resource planning for a workforce expected to grow to approximately 100 employees. The Plant Manager establishes operating discipline through effective policy implementation, standard work, and a regular management cadence that includes production reviews, performance metrics, and continuous improvement activities. Working closely with executive leadership and peers across the company's two manufacturing locations, the Plant Manager aligns plant performance with company strategy, develops supervisory and technical talent to support multi-shift operations, and ensures effective utilization of labor, equipment, and materials. Key Duties Oversee production, maintenance, and resource planning to support growth to approximately 175 employees Execute operating budgets, including capital equipment planning, justification, and deployment Establish operating discipline through standard work, policies, performance metrics, and a structured management cadence Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity Develop and lead supervisors and technical staff Partner with executive leadership and peers across both manufacturing locations to align plant performance with company strategy Skills Production planning, capacity management, and workforce scaling Budget management and capital investment planning Maintenance and equipment reliability oversight Operational excellence, standard work, and continuous improvement (Lean, TPM, or similar) Talent development and succession planning for supervisory and technical roles
Pay:
From $120,000.00 per year
