Production Manager PCF Custom Fabrication Hallsville, TX Job Details Full-time From $60,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Capacity requirements planning (CRP) Press brake machine Operations management Mechanical fabrication Team leadership Resource planning methods Managing production or assembly teams Stock control methods MRP Purchasing Metal forming fabrication Master production scheduling (MPS) Production scheduling adjustments Production scheduling Delegation Full Job Description Production Manager Pocket Change Fab | East Texas | Full Time | On Site Position Summary Pocket Change Fab is hiring a hands-on Production Manager to own the flow of manufactured parts from raw material through cutting, forming, welding, finishing, quality control and shelf availability. This manager will turn added equipment and capacity into completed, sellable product while protecting customer commitments, quality standards and labor efficiency. Why This Role Matters PCF is expanding its manufacturing operation with additional production space, a 6 by 13 laser table and a CNC bandsaw. We need a leader who can build a realistic schedule across every downstream process, control work in progress and ensure faster cutting creates more finished product instead of larger queues. What You Will Own Build and manage the production schedule from raw material through laser and saw cutting, forming, welding, finishing, QC and shelf stock. Prioritize sold orders, backorders, wholesale demand and approved minimum and maximum inventory levels. Plan labor and machine capacity for the laser, CNC bandsaw, tube equipment, press brake, welding and finishing operations. Manage domestic and overseas material coverage, purchase-order timing, lead times, reorder points and shortage risks. Control work orders, bills of materials, routings, programs, revisions, job travelers and standard labor hours. Run daily production meetings and give each department clear priorities, owners and completion dates. Track schedule attainment, labor efficiency, downtime, shortages, scrap, rework and aging work in progress. Coordinate with Quality Control so first articles, inspections and releases do not become last-minute surprises. Communicate risks early and present practical recovery plans when customer or inventory commitments are threatened. Train, coach and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, output and accurate reporting. How Success Will Be Measured Production schedule attainment and on-time completion Shelf-stock fill rate and backorder reduction Labor efficiency and output per direct labor hour Material shortage events and waiting time Work-in-progress age and queue control Scrap, rework and first-pass quality Machine uptime and completion of corrective actions Required Qualifications Experience scheduling manufacturing work and controlling inventory in a production environment. Working knowledge of fabrication processes such as laser or plasma cutting, saw cutting, forming, welding and finishing. Ability to read production information, identify bottlenecks and build a realistic plan using available labor and capacity. Strong organization and data discipline with consistent follow-up on shortages, due dates and assigned actions. Demonstrated ability to lead employees, enforce standards and communicate clearly across departments. Comfort working on the production floor and making timely decisions without sacrificing safety or quality. Preferred Qualifications Metal fabrication or powersports manufacturing experience. Experience with ERP or MRP systems, bills of materials, routings and work orders. Experience planning long-lead domestic or overseas components. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement or constraint management. Experience launching or integrating new production equipment. Leadership Expectations Plan work before assigning it and communicate risks early. Use facts, labor hours and written status instead of assumptions. Delegate clearly, follow up and hold every employee to the same standard. Protect safety and quality even when the schedule is under pressure. Correct recurring processes rather than repeatedly fixing the same immediate problem.
Schedule Schedule:
Full time and on site in East Texas. Management availability may be required outside normal hours when critical customer, equipment or safety issues occur. How to Apply Submit a resume and a short written response explaining why you want the position, the first three production problems you would evaluate and one process improvement you personally completed. Selected candidates will complete a structured interview and a practical scheduling exercise. Pocket Change Fab evaluates applicants based on demonstrated ability, leadership, accountability and the requirements of the position. Pocket Change Fab is an equal opportunity employer.
