Matern Staffing is hiring a Plant Manager for a leading building materials manufacturer in Fredericksburg, VA. In this role, you'll lead the day-to-day production and distribution operations of the facility, overseeing a team of 10+ employees while keeping production on schedule, maintaining product quality, controlling costs, and ensuring a safe work environment. You'll work closely with company leadership to improve production efficiency, solve operational challenges, and keep the facility running safely and profitably. This is a direct hire position with weekday shift hours

Salary:

$100-$150k/year

Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, 730-4pm

What You'll Do:

Lead daily production and distribution operations for the facility, including a team of 10+ production employees and/or team leads Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand while improving efficiency and productivity Coordinate production, inventory, and shipping activities to keep orders moving on schedule Monitor production costs, product quality, and inventory controls and make adjustments to support profitable operations Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts on the production floor Perform and oversee equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance to minimize downtown and keep production running efficiently Promote a safe work environment and oversee compliance with OSHA requirements and the company's safety program Manage hiring, staffing, employee performance, discipline, and other personnel needs for the facility, reporting to the Vice Preseident Build positive employee relations while reinforcing company policies, expectations, and performance standards Recommend the facility's operating budget and manage operations within the approved budget Report facility performance, safety, staffing and operational needs to company leadership

What You'll Need:

5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in door manufacturing or a similar fabrication or build-to-order environment Previous leadership experience managing production employees and operations Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify production issues and implement practical solutions Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment Clear communication skills for working with production employees, company leadership, vendors, and other departments Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Word, along with inventory or production management software High school diploma or GED Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally About our client: Since 2016 our client has produced custom doors is a leader in building customer loyalty and successes by combining teamwork, exceptional service, innovation, and professionalism balanced with quality, trust and integrity.
