Job Description

Essential Functions A Ziegenfelder Operator is responsible for:
  • Ensures machines are running properly at the proper speed.
  • Assists Maintenance to ensure machines are in proper operational condition.
  • Draws mix for production as needed per QA/Supervisor/Team Lead/Assistant Team Lead.
  • Ensures quality standards of products are met.
  • Ensures the proper number of supplies is present for the shift.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of production lines, producing quality Ziegenfelder treats for delivery to customers.
  • Lead by example in a manner consistent with Ziegenfelder Values.
  • Follows all GMP and SQF procedures and practices.
  • Assist in training new operators per Supervisor/Team Lead/Assistant Team Lead.
  • Ensure work area is clean and organized and all rework is complete.
  • Completes all production consumption of raw materials in Business Central accurately and ensures timely submission for compliance standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting all departments as needed to produce and package quality Ziegenfelder treats.
  • Verify RedZone to confirm completion and accuracy of raw material usage, metal detector audits, and product quality checks.
  • Undertaking proper corrective/preventative actions when there is a safety, quality, or defective product event.
  • Ensure all relevant departmental communication is conducted promptly, accurately, and through appropriate channels. Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a management or leadership role required, preferably in the food manufacturing environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical or operational background, in addition to the above qualifications, is a plus.
  • Must be available to work all shift to include weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English. Physical Abilities
  • Standing up to 8 hours per day.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
  • Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
  • May need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly.
  • May need to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push, and pull frequently during a shift. Working Conditions
  • Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
  • May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.
