This is a hands-on position — we need someone who can manage production and the crew while also operating equipment and troubleshooting difficult drilling conditions in the field.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Strong hands-on experience operating horizontal directional drills Experience with locating systems and understanding bore profiles Experience with vacuum trailers, potholing/daylighting, and utility exposure Strong experience drilling in challenging ground conditions, including rock and cobble Ability to plan and execute HDD bores safely and efficiently Manage drillers, locators, laborers, and other crew members Coordinate daily production and ensure production targets are achieved Monitor footage, productivity, equipment, and job progress Troubleshoot drilling, locating, tooling, and ground-condition issues Ensure proper setup, drilling fluids, tooling, reaming, and pullback procedures Maintain equipment and identify maintenance or repair needs Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure OSHA/company safety requirements are followed Coordinate with project management and field supervision Maintain accurate daily production reports

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who has worked their way up in HDD operations and understands the work from the ground up. You should be comfortable running a drill or locator yourself when needed , while also being capable of managing the entire crew, production, safety, and equipment.

Experience:

HDD:

5+ years preferred

HDD Foreman/Supervisor:

2+ years preferred Rock/cobble drilling experience strongly preferred Valid driver's license required CDL is a plus !

Pay:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
