Full Job Description NCS Overview:
National Carwash Solutions (NCS) is a leading industrial products, services, and technology company serving car wash operators across North America since the 1970s. We provide a full suite of manufactured equipment, installation project services, aftermarket parts and service, chemicals, and software — including tunnel equipment, in-bay automatics, vacuums, dryers, water systems, doors, signage, and arches. This role is based at our Grimes, Iowa manufacturing plant — one of six NCS manufacturing facilities across North America — where our welding and fabrication teams build the equipment that powers car wash operations nationwide. With roughly 1,600 employees company-wide and corporate offices in Grimes, Iowa and Dallas, Texas. NCS combines the scale and stability of an established industry leader with the hands-on, floor-level impact of a manufacturing environment where what you build directly ships to customers.
Job Summary:
As a Production Supervisor - Welding , you will be a member of the operations team. You will ensure that all hourly employees are performing work in a safe and efficient matter. Successful candidates will have experience in planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes, specifically for welding both MIG and TIG .
Job Duties:
Be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team Supervise all hourly employees within the Welding team 90% of the day spent on the shop floor Responsible for ensuring welding operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established specifications, procedures, drawings, and company quality standards Perform common administrative functions required of personnel in a supervisory capacity; Endeavors to maintain good employee morale, enthusiasm and cooperation Administer discipline in accordance with company work rules Provide guidance and assign tasks within the department Train employees in new work tasks within the department Participate in meetings associated with manufacturing goals and objectives Approve employee timecards and authorize wage allowances in accordance with company policies Understand and comply with company policies Participate in company annual inventory count Comply and ensure all team members comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time
Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Must possess a strong working knowledge of welding techniques, equipment setup, material preparation, weld parameters, and quality standards Must be capable of evaluating weld quality, identifying welding defects, troubleshooting welding processes, and providing technical guidance and training to welding personnel Prior leadership or supervisory experience of a welding team required Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing industry environment BA in Industrial Technology or related field preferred Proficiency with lean manufacturing tools and concepts, preferred
