Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Operations Supervisor oversees and coordinates production activities, workforce priorities, resource allocation, and workflow execution to ensure operational goals, production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal health and nutrition, enjoys coaching and developing employees, and thrives on solving operational challenges while driving continuous improvement. This position is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, supervising production leadership, monitoring schedule attainment, resolving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Supervisor provides hands-on leadership on the production floor and is accountable for maintaining productivity, quality, food safety, labor efficiency, and operational performance. This position has two (2) direct report Line Supervisors and the packaging operators. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and Innovations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Daily Production Paperwork
  • Collect, review, and reconcile all daily production documentation against the published schedules.
  • Verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all production records; identify and resolve missing paperwork, errors, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Submit organized and accurate documentation for Acumatica entry and resolve follow-up questions. Production Schedule Execution
  • Responsible for scheduling production.
  • Ensure work assignments are effectively communicated to Line Supervisors and production associates.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and production progress throughout the day.
  • Identify, address, or escalate issues impacting production, including staffing shortages, material availability, equipment downtime, or schedule deviations. Daily Production Update
  • Provide daily communication to VP of Operations & Innovation, summarizing schedule attainment, production successes and misses, key operational issues, corrective actions taken, and follow-up items.
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with leadership regarding production performance and operational concerns. Supervisor & Floor Ownership
  • Establish clear expectations for two Line Supervisors and hold them accountable for execution of assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain active visibility on production floor activities to ensure production is operating according to schedule and priorities.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and maintain accountability for all production schedules and operational activities, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with the Company's core values.
  • Ensure supervisors are effectively managing staffing, workflow, and production execution. Weekly Overtime Reporting & Workforce Analysis
  • Prepare and distribute weekly overtime reports identifying employees who incurred overtime, total hours worked, and contributing factors.
  • Analyze overtime trends, workload distribution, and recurring staffing challenges.
  • Recommend process improvements, cross-training opportunities, staffing adjustments, or scheduling changes to improve labor efficiency and reduce unnecessary overtime. International Finished Goods
  • Ensure international production schedules are created and executed accurately and on time; promptly escalate delays or risks to leadership.
  • Verify eaches, case quantities, case labels, pallet identification, segregation, and pallet organization to ensure compliance.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized Cornell-to-Pontiac transfer process, including accurate quantities, documentation, inventory reconciliation, and communication between locations. Communication & Food Safety Follow-Through
  • Promptly acknowledge and respond to emails/requests requiring Production involvement, and ensure issues are followed through to completion.
  • Help implement GMP, documentation, regulatory, and customer specific requirements, including BD Food Safety requirements.
  • Communicate procedural changes to supervisors and associates, verify successful implementation, and address compliance concerns.
  • Escalate barriers that could negatively impact food safety, quality, production efficiency, or regulatory compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a genuine appreciation for animals and be enthusiastic about supporting products that promote animal health and well-being
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory, team lead, or management experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment required.
  • Four (4) years or more in manufacturing/production/distribution inventory required
  • Work at a self-directed pace with minimal supervision
  • Be highly organized
  • Possess excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Excellent computer skills required
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required. Acumatica is a plus.

  • Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels and work in hot and cold conditions Preferences
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, management, or related field preferred Previous supervisory or management experience preferred; experience leading teams in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment strongly preferred.
Pay:
$58,000.00
  • $68,000.
