SUMMARY In this role you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of production members, which includes production shipping/receiving and/or QC, engaged in the manufacturing of products, plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This role ensures compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures effective member relations on a daily basis, provides member coaching and development, makes employment decisions and resolves member concerns through problem resolution Ensures that company policies, procedures, rules are followed Responsible for processes, equipment, members, safety and housekeeping in the production area and meeting production and quality standards on a daily basis Balances quality, safety, productivity, cost and moral to achieve positive results Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department Supports continuous improvement activities within team through active participation and direction Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports to manager Performs thorough accident investigations Maintains the member timekeeping system Ensure that members receive appropriate and adequate training and development Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment and assists members in resolving work problems. Counsels, records and applies appropriate discipline as necessary Develops team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of the receiving members Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates ability to lead people and get results through others Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must have the ability to interact and understand people Good knowledge of the Toyota Production System Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required 2-3 years plant floor experience desired
