Join our team as a Production Supervisor at Manthei Wood Products, where we specialize in crafting premium hardwood veneer and plywood. We are an energetic, results-oriented, fun-loving, collaborative, humble, and passionate group of people that enjoy making a difference within the hardwood veneer and plywood industry. We have a hardwood face veneer division, a hardwood plywood division, a plain slice division, and a specialty plywood division. Growth is upon us and we are seeking a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor executes the production plan and supervises the team members through the shift. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall productivity and quality of the veneer and will oversee multiple activities simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be mechanical, possess experience in lean manufacturing principles and have a proven track record in problem-solving disciplines. This is a 1st shift position with hours approximately 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead personnel in meeting daily, weekly and monthly production targets; scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; resolving problems; and reporting results to management. Understanding of the production schedule and implementation, and employee hours. Responsible for communicating daily and weekly goals to your team members as well as overall company goals and objectives. Make judgment calls when the department or production manager is unavailable regarding troubleshooting personnel, production and machine issues . Fill-in for co-workers when needed. Ensure the safety of all personnel by implementing and enforcing all company safety policies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Organize tools, and materials and keep work areas free of clutter. Maintain tools and equipment through proper storage, training, maintenance, and usage. Understand, follow, and enforce employee conduct guidelines established in the employee handbook. Answer personnel questions and/or obtain clarification of handbook content through Management or Human Resources. Maintain communication between management and team members to ensure that necessary policies are understood and followed. Exhibit and demonstrate the company's leadership values of humility, initiative, and discernment. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the company as needs change Coaching Responsibilities Provide positive leadership by demonstrating proper examples of enthusiasm, being safety-minded, focused on quality conscientiousness, and having a strong, productive work ethic. Train staff on safe, correct, and productive job performance skills and habits. Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures. Provide and document corrective instructions or actions as warranted or instructed. Assist management with personnel related documentation as instructed: New Hire Training Documents Performance and Coaching Action Reviews Reports of injury Personnel Record Changes Time Recording Other Skills, Abilities, Licenses or CertificationsCurrent Driver's license and ability to obtain forklift license with in house training certification. Experience operating an excavator and/or front end loader preferred but not required.

Education and ExperienceBusiness related degree and 3-5 years' experience in a production or manufacturing setting; wood industry preferredFamiliarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniquesLEAN manufacturing background preferredWell-versed in relevant software (ie.
