Foreman Sheet Metal Ductwork Job Description This role oversees and performs sheet metal ductwork installation in a commercial warehouse environment. The foreman leads duct installation runs, ensures high-quality workmanship on all sheet metal components, and works from blueprints to complete complex HVAC duct systems, including spiral duct and standard ductwork, while maintaining a clean and safe job site. Responsibilities Run and oversee all sheet metal ductwork installation in a hospital setting during new construction. Perform complete duct runs independently, including planning, layout, and execution of the work. Install sheet metal ductwork components such as offsets, 90-degree bends, and 45-degree bends with a high level of accuracy. Install spiral duct and standard HVAC duct systems according to project specifications and mechanical plans. Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine duct routing, sizes, and installation details. Use snips and other hand tools to cut, shape, and fit sheet metal components for proper duct installation. Cut and fabricate metal parts and sections as needed to complete custom duct configurations. Install hangers and support systems for ductwork to meet safety and structural requirements. Operate and maintain personal powered tools and hand tools required for sheet metal and duct installation. Coordinate work sequences to ensure efficient progress and alignment with other trades on site. Inspect completed ductwork for quality, alignment, and compliance with project standards. Perform necessary cleanup of the work area after tasks are complete, maintaining a neat and organized job site. Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience installing sheet metal ductwork in construction environments. Strong proficiency in running ductwork independently, including planning and executing full duct runs. Advanced skill in installing offsets, 90-degree bends, and 45-degree bends in sheet metal ductwork. High proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings. Demonstrated ability to cut and fabricate metal components accurately for duct installations. Experience installing spiral duct and standard HVAC duct systems. Skill in installing duct hangers and support systems safely and correctly. Proficient use of hand tools, including snips, for cutting and shaping sheet metal. Ability to use powered tools for sheet metal and duct installation tasks. Reliability and willingness to perform jobsite cleanup and maintain a tidy work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Possession of personal hand tools required for sheet metal and duct installation work. Possession of personal powered tools suitable for cutting, fastening, and fabricating ductwork. Comfort working from mechanical and construction blueprints in a hospital new construction environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Ayden, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
