Plant Manager Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Ensures the safety of all operation personnel through daily; Encouraging employees to work safely with environmental awareness and good manufacturing practices in mind. Compliance with occupational safety and health regulations Recommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment and safety programs Leading by example with a positive outlook. Coordinates operation of the packaging area to insure adherence to established product, environmental, safety and quality guidelines set by the company. Interacts directly with Packaging Leads to produce desired operational results and employee development. Participates in open communication through; Communicating concerns for safety, environmental, health, and product quality to employees. Listening and responding to employee suggestions and concerns. Keeping plant management informed of all matters affecting the operation of the production area, morale and safety of employees. Interacting with peers and Shift Superintendents in other production areas to provide operational stability. Conducting safety and quality training meetings. Providing positive reinforcement when employees are observed producing safe performance and good results. Continually fine-tuning and optimizing the process, to improve efficiency and safety in the production area. Facilitates troubleshooting efforts and addresses production limiting factors. Serves as a primary contact for operational and maintenance planning, giving guidance as to the priorities. Conducts daily review of paperwork (i.e., operational & Shift Supervisor round sheets, quality reports and Production Review). Available as a departmental on-call resource for resolution of any production and/or quality issues that may arise during the evening and/or weekend. Coordinating start-up of new processes. Supports Quality and the Food Safety Management System and possibly as member of the Food Safety Team. Involved in employee coaching and discipline. Is the primary point of contact for the Packaging department and partners with them to ensure production/quality compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is desired but not mandatory. 5 years of experience in a packaging leadership role. Demonstrated extremely strong commitment and leadership in plant safety programs. Excellent communication skills

Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills employed include; handling conflict, motivating, instructing and training personnel in a fair, honest and direct way. Technical competence in process mechanics, instrumentation, controls, calculations and utility systems. Ability to achieve and track excellence using performance-driven metrics. Proficient computer skills. Ability to effectively manage time for optimal results. Able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks, meet deadlines and strive for continuous improvement. 112385BR Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $70,400.00
