•Putnam County, NY Full-Time Ironheart Welding is a growing structural and miscellaneous steel contractor serving commercial projects throughout the Hudson Valley, Westchester, Connecticut, and surrounding areas. We are looking for an experienced working Foreman who can step in and be productive from day one. This is not an entry-level position. The right candidate should be capable of receiving a set of drawings, a fabrication or installation task, or a defined scope of work and completing it independently without constant supervision . This is a hands-on position. The Foreman will be expected to work alongside the crew while also taking responsibility for productivity, quality, organization, and completion of assigned work. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a small crew in the shop and/or field. Review drawings, sketches, field dimensions, and work instructions and determine how to execute the work. Lay out, fabricate, fit, weld, and assemble structural and miscellaneous steel. Perform field installation of structural steel, stairs, railings, frames, supports, and miscellaneous metals. Plan the work necessary to complete assigned tasks efficiently. Direct other employees when assigned a crew. Verify dimensions and identify potential issues before fabrication or installation. Maintain quality and productivity without requiring continuous supervision. Communicate material, equipment, access, or drawing issues before they impact the work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Take responsibility for assigned work from start through completion. Required Experience & Qualifications Prior structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication and/or installation experience is required. Strong MIG and SMAW welding skills. TIG experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand structural and miscellaneous metals drawings. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform layout independently. Experience with fitting, fabrication, welding, drilling, cutting, grinding, and general steel shop equipment. Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks without constant direction. Ability to troubleshoot field and fabrication issues and make sound decisions. Strong understanding of shop and field safety. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Dependable, punctual, and able to work full-time. Strongly Preferred Previous Foreman, Lead Welder, or crew-lead experience. Structural steel erection and field installation experience. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30. AWS or other relevant welding certifications. Commercial driver's license. Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, aerial lifts, or similar equipment. Rigging and crane-signal experience. Ability to perform field measurements and translate them into fabrication work. We need a person who can be given an assignment, understand what needs to be done, organize the work, and get it completed correctly and efficiently. Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated ability.
