The Floor Foreman will be responsible for driving daily production, expediting customer orders, managing and motivating employees, and ensuring the assembly team meets established quality, delivery, and efficiency goals. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong organizational skills, clear communication, accountability, and the ability to keep production moving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Expedite customer orders by establishing priorities, coordinating workflow, monitoring progress, and taking action to prevent production delays. Lead, manage, and motivate a team of assembly technicians to meet daily and weekly production and delivery requirements. Assign work based on production priorities, employee capabilities, available materials, and required completion dates. Monitor production timing and labor efficiency, including tracking time required to complete assemblies and identifying opportunities to improve productivity. Establish and communicate production expectations, priorities, and completion targets to employees. Monitor jobs throughout the production process and quickly address bottlenecks, delays, material shortages, or staffing issues. Train, coach, and mentor employees on assembly procedures, work instructions, equipment, quality expectations, and safe work practices. Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, reinforcing proper work methods, and addressing performance or training needs. Maintain accountability for attendance, productivity, workmanship, safety, and adherence to established procedures. Monitor production performance and use timing, output, and efficiency information to identify areas for improvement. Ensure completed work meets established quality and workmanship standards before moving to the next stage of production or shipment. Coordinate closely with other departments to keep orders on schedule. Monitor inventory of assembly materials and communicate shortages or replenishment requirements before they impact production. Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce downtime, improve quality, and shorten production lead times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and established manufacturing practices. Provide management with updates regarding production status, order completion, staffing needs, efficiency, and potential delivery concerns. Leadership & Performance Expectations The successful candidate will be a hands-on floor leader who can effectively balance people, production, quality, and delivery requirements. The Floor Foreman must be comfortable setting priorities, holding employees accountable, recognizing strong performance, and taking corrective action when necessary. This position will play a key role in ensuring that orders are completed on time, employees are properly trained and productive, and production time is measured and continuously improved. Qualifications Previous supervisory, lead, or foreman experience overseeing 5 or more employees in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment required. Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, train, and develop employees. Experience coordinating multiple jobs and expediting orders to meet customer delivery requirements. Ability to measure and evaluate production time, labor efficiency, output, and workflow. Strong understanding of assembly processes, tools, equipment, and manufacturing procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and production documentation. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe manufacturing practices. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, certifications, or manufacturing-related education preferred.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
