Production Manager Platinum Woodworking | Pascoag, RI Platinum Woodworking is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our custom woodworking shop and help drive the next stage of our growth. The Production Manager is the operational anchor of Platinum Woodworking. You will own the manufacturing lifecycle from engineering handoff through final assembly and installation readiness, while leading the team, managing production efficiency, protecting project margins, and maintaining the level of craftsmanship our clients expect. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance production demands with people, priorities, and accountability. What You'll Be Responsible For Production Planning & Scheduling Own daily, weekly, and long-range production schedules. Balance labor, equipment, priorities, and deadlines to keep projects moving. Sequence workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize bottlenecks. Review engineering handoffs to ensure projects are production-ready. Adjust schedules proactively to protect installation dates. Team Leadership & Accountability Lead the shop with clear expectations, structure, and accountability. Run daily production meetings and set priorities. Assign work based on skill, complexity, and production needs. Coach team members in efficiency, craftsmanship, and precision. Address performance issues directly and professionally. Build a culture of teamwork, communication, ownership, and pride. Quality & Efficiency Maintain quality standards from milling through final assembly. Identify errors at the source and eliminate unnecessary rework. Track labor efficiency, waste, and production performance. Continuously improve processes, workflows, and SOPs. Materials, Equipment & Shop Operations Maintain material availability and coordinate purchasing needs. Keep inventory organized and production-ready. Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and performance. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment. Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards. Ensure proper PPE, routine safety checks, and compliance. Lead by example in maintaining a safe workplace. Communication & Coordination Connect production with engineering, administration, purchasing, and installation. Keep teams informed of priorities, schedule changes, and potential issues. Ensure installers receive complete and accurate project information. Communicate problems early and drive them toward resolution. Leadership & People Development This role is about more than managing production. It's about building the people who make production possible. We are looking for someone with strong: Time management and organization Communication and conflict-management skills Training and coaching ability Situational leadership Accountability and follow-through Problem-solving skills Experience with Predictive Index (PI), Vision Conversations, or similar leadership-development systems is a plus.
