Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a premier manufacturing client in Smithfield, RI to fill a Direct Hire Production Supervisor position. Smithfield, RI Pay:
$65,000-$80,000 annually (based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM until finish | 45-50 hours per week Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating production team members to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of products. This individual will oversee daily production activities, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement throughout the operation. Responsibilities Lead and enforce all workplace safety procedures and company policies. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable government requirements. Oversee and ensure proper execution of the HAZMAT program. Promote safe work practices and hold team members accountable for following safety procedures. Drive product quality by ensuring products are built correctly the first time. Identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and improve processes to prevent recurring defects. Train new employees on equipment operation, work procedures, and safety practices. Partner with Human Resources to address employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace matters. Review production schedules, work orders, reports, and operational data to meet production goals. Establish and monitor product quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Inspect materials, equipment, and finished products to identify defects or equipment issues. Manage production efficiently while minimizing waste and maximizing productivity. Participate in monthly safety committee meetings. Investigate workplace accidents, complete incident reports, develop corrective action plans, and coordinate appropriate medical care when necessary. Conduct monthly facility safety inspections and lead weekly toolbox safety meetings. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. At least 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or management experience leading production teams. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. A commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.
