Job Description

Position Summary This position will be in Williamston, SC and reports to the Operations Manager. Lead a team of operators, material handlers, process technician(s), material setter(s), automation technician(s) and team lead(s) to achieve high production output with minimum downtime and scrap. Ensure, that all production personnel are receiving adequate training and are following company standards. Position Responsibilities- Essential
  • Reports to the Production Manager and executes the daily production schedule
  • Works according to the standard procedures
  • Responsible for the training of all non-technical direct and indirect reports
  • Responsible for the assigned shift's
KPIs:
OEE, 5S, Safety, etc. Responsible for rapidly responding to any issues to minimize downtime and scrap on assigned shift
  • Perform daily audits "Mid shift Meetings" of the work areas to ensure standard procedures are followed, clean and safe work areas
  • Responsible for effective changeovers according to the standard procedures
  • Perform inventory counts to ensure packaging and component availability prior to production runs.
  • Responsible for the staffing, the training, and the disciplinary actions on the shift
  • Ensure operators are aware of quality alerts and act accordingly.
  • Create and share production report
  • Effectively schedule operators for maximum production performance
  • Responsible for the GP12 area and that the GP12 process is actively performed and followed by assigned operators
  • Effectively coordinate change overs for minimum downtime
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance
  • Ensure cleanliness 5S and maintains safe work environment within production department.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Participate actively in new product development and introduction
  • Works closely with Process Specialist and Automation Specialist to address any technical issues and technical staff training needs
  • Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure uninterrupted supply of empties, raw materials and components to production
  • Consistently monitor all work cells to ensure operators are equipped with appropriate tools, PPE, empty containers for uninterrupted production
  • Break out operators, when necessary
  • Performs daily walkthrough with outgoing and incoming production supervisors to handover a clean and safe production area.
Apply 5S methods daily Ensure safe and clean work areas by cleaning up spills or any other process/automation related root causes Consistently monitor production KPIs, and present ideas to improve them Participation in the continuous improvement process and the implementation of the agreed improvements Position Responsibilities- Non-Essential/Other

  • High school diploma or associate degree or relevant experience with equivalent qualifications
  • Understanding and knowledge of injection molding process
  • Positive and supportive attitude, team player
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Good organizational and prioritizing skills Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Previous supervisor experience
  • Previous injection molding experience, preferably in the automotive industry, would be considered a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability and accuracy
  • Possess strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Effective team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English
