Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Welder - Team Lead to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee welding operations in our fabrication shop, ensuring projects meet quality standards and safety protocols. You will lead a team of welders, coordinate tasks efficiently, and uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship using a variety of welding techniques. Your mechanical knowledge and ability to interpret technical drawings will drive successful project completion while fostering a safety-first environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively utilizes department resources to drive positive results for employee engagement, retention and department results.
  • Collaborates with Production Planning department on available labor and schedule.
  • Reworks processes as needed.
  • Conducts new hire training specific to machine operation and processes.
  • Acts as Supervisor in the absence of the Department Supervisor.
  • Reads and interprets work instructions and other requirements necessary to complete the job task according to the product specifications.
  • Enforces all organizational policies and addresses items specific to the department to maintain company standards.
  • Helps to evaluate and audit the standard times and efficiencies of department employees
  • Assist in calculating daily and weekly output to assure revenue goals are being met
  • Audit and correct employees of overinflated "Additional time Collection"
  • Ensures productive collaboration between departments and shifts.
  • Interprets and applies quality standards to parts and processes.
  • Department Team Leads are held to a minimum of 15 points as to align with the Core Values of Counterpart. The point system is outlined in the Handbook.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Review and Complete documented "Standard Work"
  • Monitor own time to ensure that Team Lead duties are kept to under 20% of core time.
Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of metal materials and fabrication processes Skilled in interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, schematics, and ASME codes & standards Extensive hands-on experience with various welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW
; certification from AWS preferred Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read mechanical blueprints and perform shop math accurately Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers; proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely Experience operating rigging equipment, forklifts, machining tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and pipe threading equipment Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards in fast-paced environments Strong communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and problem-solving Join us as a Welder - Team Lead to bring your expertise into a thriving environment where craftsmanship meets innovation.
