Job Description

Build a Manufacturing Operation From the Ground Up We are an international manufacturer of metal and composite components for the construction machinery industry, and we are launching a new production operation in Victoria, Texas. We are looking for a hands-on fabrication leader to set the standard from day one. You won't inherit a plant; you'll help build one, including the processes, the team, and a culture where safety, quality, and on-time delivery are simply how the work gets done. Position at a

All benefits required by law Core requirement: Hands-on sheet metal / steel plate fabrication experience and proven shop-floor supervision What This Position Requires We want to be clear from the start. This role is for a leader who: Has built a career in sheet metal or steel plate fabrication , working directly with cutting, forming, and welding. Has supervised production teams on the shop floor , not only from an office, engineering, or analyst role. Is comfortable on the floor every day and can personally troubleshoot a fabrication process. Communicates confidently in English with leadership, vendors, and customers. What You'll Do Lead daily production: Plan, assign, and supervise fabrication and assembly work, and keep the floor moving against schedule and priorities.
Drive performance:
Track output, scrap, downtime, overtime, and safety metrics, then turn the data into clear corrective actions.
Keep materials flowing:
Coordinate with Planning and Materials to keep imported metal plates and supplies available, and flag shortages or risks before they affect delivery.
Own quality on the floor:
Enforce
ISO 9001
procedures and work instructions, support APQP activities, and verify dimensions, tolerances, weld quality, fit-up, and finish.
Solve problems at the root:
Lead containment and corrective actions for non-conformities together with Quality.
Champion safety:
Enforce OSHA and internal standards for hot work, machine guarding, material handling, and PPE, and investigate incidents and near misses.
Build and develop your team:
Hire, onboard, train, and coach fabricators, welders, operators, and assemblers.
Improve continuously:
Apply Lean practices (5S, standard work, waste elimination) to layout, workflow, tooling, and fixturing.
Manage costs:
Control labor, overtime, consumables (welding wire, gas, abrasives), and scrap within budget. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on sheet metal or steel plate fabrication experience in job shops, structural or heavy fabrication, metal enclosures, or machinery manufacturing. 3-5+ years supervising production teams in a fabrication or manufacturing plant. Practical command of shearing, laser and plasma cutting, punching, press-brake forming, MIG/TIG welding, grinding, and paint / powder coat finishing. Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, tolerances, and work instructions. Experience working under ISO 9001 or
IATF 16949
quality systems. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements for fabrication and welding operations. Technical degree in Manufacturing, Welding, Industrial, or Mechanical fields, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong English communication skills (the final interview is conducted in English). Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Experience starting up or ramping up a new plant or production line. Background with composite materials or components for construction and heavy equipment. AWS welding certification or formal welding / metal-forming training. Experience in a multinational environment with imported materials and international suppliers. Lean Manufacturing or Green Belt training.
Important:
This position requires direct sheet metal / plate fabrication experience. Manufacturing leadership in other industries (automotive assembly, plastics, electronics, etc.) without hands-on fabrication exposure will not be considered. Pay:
