Job Description

Job Overview We are a midsize fabrication and machine shop in Brigham City, Utah. We work a 4/10 schedule Monday-Thurs with some flexibility on start time. Looking for someone that's been around the block and is not afraid to work in a demanding environment and hold people accountable in conjunction with our Shop Manager. Pay depends on the candidate and experience and will be discussed during the interview process. Duties Supervise and coordinate all machine shop activities, ensuring timely and accurate production of machined components Lead setup and operation of CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems Develop and review CNC G-code programming and CAM programming to optimize machining processes Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure precise manufacturing outcomes Conduct machine setup, calibration, and tooling adjustments for various machining tools including grinders, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and measurement instruments Perform quality control inspections utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM), measurement tools, and visual inspection techniques to verify part dimensions and tolerances Train and mentor machinists on manual machining techniques, CNC programming (including M-code), measurement accuracy, and safety protocols Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing proper use of hand tools, power tools, and machine safeguards Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design improvements using SolidWorks or CAD software for enhanced manufacturability Experience Proven leadership experience as a Machine Shop Foreman or similar supervisory role within a manufacturing or metalworking environment Extensive hands-on experience with CNC machining operations including CNC lathe and milling machines (Fanuc or equivalent controls) Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software is highly desirable Familiarity with measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality inspection Solid understanding of machining tools, tooling management, grinding processes, and manual machining techniques such as lathe work and grinding operations Ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately while applying precision measurement in machining processes Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, feeds & speeds adjustments Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices aimed at reducing waste while maintaining high-quality standards Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues efficiently Join us if you're ready to lead a talented team in a vibrant manufacturing environment where your expertise will make a tangible impact.
