Sheetmetal Mechanic Integrity Staffing Services - 3.7 Chesapeake, VA Job Details $34 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Team scheduling Supervising experience Project task coordination Crew management Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Sheetmetal Mechanic to support ship repair and marine fabrication projects in the Hampton Roads area. This position requires a strong first-class sheetmetal background along with demonstrated leadership experience. The Lead Mechanic will be responsible for directing a small crew, interpreting drawings and blueprints, and performing hands-on sheetmetal installation, repair, and fabrication work aboard vessels and within shipyard environments. Essential Duties & Qualifications Lead and provide day-to-day direction to a crew of approximately four mechanics, while remaining hands-on with the work. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and measurements to determine layout, fabrication, and installation requirements. Perform marine sheetmetal fabrication, repair, removal, and installation work, including ventilation systems, bulkheads, small decks, head patches/replacements, joiner bulkheads, berthing, furniture installation, and related shipboard components. Perform layout and use measuring devices accurately to fabricate and install material to specification. Experience with stud shooting, welding, metal forming/bending, and structural repair is highly preferred. Must have 3+ years of Shipyard Experience Previous lead or supervisory experience in a shipyard environment strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working independently and coordinating work to keep the crew productive and on schedule. Must be available to work night shift, including overtime and weekends as project schedules require.

$34.00/hour
Schedule:
Night Shift:
Mon-Thurs 3:30pm-2:00am, Fri & Sat - 3:30pm-11pm #ISS
