Production Line Facilitator

Job Description

OVERVIEW
The Production Line Facilitator smooths assembly operations across production lines by coordinating individual and team activities throughout the day•resolving workflow obstacles, assisting in training, and reinforcing build process standards. When not directly facilitating line operations, he/she serves in operational roles•including small parts management and distribution. Ultimately, the Facilitator supports accuracy and efficiency in meeting day-to-day production goals while championing lean manufacturing standards, safety, accountability, and team collaboration.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Workflow Facilitation:
Issues morning bench assignments and monitors assembly progress throughout the day•quickly identifies/resolves bottlenecks and adjusts resources to keep lines moving efficiently
Team Building:
Models/promotes constructive communications and skill sharing, fosters a teamwork environment that encourages collaboration and harmonious commitment toward meeting production goals
Process Management:
Ensures accountability in manufacturing processes•reinforcing standards as needed through guidance and retraining; works closely with Process Manager on continuous improvement•providing ideas and feedback toward improving methodologies
Quality Assurance:
Periodically audits lines and prepped materials to ensure finished products meet quality standards; answers questions on quality standards and resolves concerns
Training:
Works closely with Process Manager to support training efforts; continually observes manufacturing activity and reinforces training standards; provides recommendations for training strategies as well as recommendations for personnel certification in respirator or powered lifts
Safety Enforcement:
Promotes safe work habits•ensuring safety practices are followed during operations, verifying protective gear is appropriately used, and reviewing staff upon their safety performance
Operational Support:
Collates/Distributes small parts as needed; serves as a member of the Spill Response team and Safety Committee; provides back-up forklift duties; acts in any other capacity as assigned to ensure production initiatives are met
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Possesses at least 2 years in a process-driven manufacturing environment, preferably administering or supporting process oversite Capable of maintaining a broad knowledge base of building practices and standards; skilled in reading build instructions and bill of materials (BOMs) with a high degree of accuracy Proficient in understanding/maintaining 5S Standards and lean manufacturing processes Able to employ clear and supportive communication skills across assembly groups, as well as with leadership teams•particularly regarding production progress, needs, and concerns Experienced in coaching and training practices Capable of maintaining both respirator and forklift certifications Physically able to stand for long intervals as well as bend, reach and lift up to 55 lbs High school diploma or equivalent required
