We have a great customer reputation. We pride ourselves on our quality, on-time delivery, and teamwork. Summary GMW is seeking an experienced Assembly Manager. This role requires minimum of 10 years in a role supervising and motivating subordinates in a production environment. A strong mechanical aptitude and common-sense approach to trouble-shooting is required. Experience in Aerospace parts assembly is preferred. Qualified individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and are detailed oriented are encouraged to apply. This position will report to the Operations VP. Essential Functions Provide day to day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively work with the Operations VP to improve department and reach goals Supervise, motivate, train and develop department employees Manage department employee schedules and workflow with Operations VP Assign duties and monitor quality of work; ensure staff conforms to organizational policies, procedures, and government regulations Review department efficiencies for improvement, accuracy and implement change when needed Coordinate problem solving, but utilizing technical resources within the company Ensure employees within department are up to date on training and employee reviews Monitor employee morale, attendance, and issue employee warnings approved by the Operations VP Assure all work order documentation is completed accurately; written and computer Assist with creation of work instructions and training documents Oversee purchasing of supplies to support Assembly Skills Required Minimum of 10 year's supervising and motivating subordinates Minimum of 5 year's Assembly experience in Aerospace or equivalent parts manufacturing; preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Strong mechanical aptitude Basic math & computer skills Use basic hand-held measuring tools Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow job traveler Please note this description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to move, reach, lift, handle, feel, ascend/descend, observe, inspect, detect, handle or position self to observe. Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs frequently. Work Environment This job operates in a machine shop environment. Must be able to remain standing/walking position for majority of the time. This position is required to work around high-speed machinery and equipment and the use of any required safety equipment. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness.
