Custom Commercial Cabinet & Fixture Fabrication Job Type:

Full-time We are looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our production team in the fabrication of custom commercial cabinets, fixtures, millwork, and related products . This is a hands-on, working foreman position . The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the shop while also actively participating in production and fabrication work. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, solve problems on the shop floor, and help develop a more efficient and organized manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate has strong custom fabrication experience and understands how to coordinate people, materials, equipment, and production schedules to consistently deliver high-quality work on time. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 3S, continuous improvement, or similar process-improvement methods is preferred. However, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong desire to learn and improve. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily shop production and fabrication activities. Actively participate in production and fabrication work alongside the shop team. Lead by example by maintaining high standards for workmanship, productivity, safety, and professionalism. Plan and prioritize workflow to keep projects moving efficiently and meet production schedules. Lead and support a team of cabinetmakers, fabricators, and shop personnel. Provide hands-on technical guidance and assistance when needed. Oversee fabrication of custom commercial cabinets, casework, fixtures, millwork, and related products . Review shop drawings, plans, specifications, and production requirements. Monitor quality throughout the fabrication process and ensure finished products meet company and project standards. Identify production issues, bottlenecks, and material or scheduling problems and work to resolve them. Coordinate materials, hardware, tools, equipment, and manpower requirements. Train, mentor, and develop shop employees. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Help establish and improve standard operating procedures and production processes. Work closely with management, project managers, designers, and installers to ensure projects are fabricated correctly and on schedule. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Continuous learning and education in Lean Manufacturing will be a required part of this position. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in an ongoing Lean Manufacturing education and development process and apply those principles to our day-to-day shop operations. This may include training and practical application of: 3S and workplace organization Standard work Waste reduction Workflow and process improvement Reducing downtime and bottlenecks Reducing material waste and rework Improving quality and consistency Visual management Problem-solving and root-cause analysis Continuous improvement and Kaizen principles We are looking for someone who is open to learning, willing to challenge existing processes, and motivated to continually find better ways to get the job done. Formal Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn and actively participate in the Lean education process is required. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in custom fabrication, cabinet manufacturing, millwork, or a related production environment. Experience with commercial cabinetry, fixtures, casework, or architectural millwork strongly preferred. Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Fabricator, Production Lead, or similar supervisory role preferred. Strong understanding of cabinet and fixture fabrication processes. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong knowledge of fabrication tools, equipment, materials, and production methods. Ability to organize people and workflow while maintaining production schedules. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good communication and leadership skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability and willingness to work hands-on in production , not just supervise from the office. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, custom-production environment. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 3S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement is a plus. Willingness to participate in ongoing Lean Manufacturing education and training is required. The Ideal Candidate The right person will be more than someone who can simply assign work. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands custom fabrication and knows how to bring a team together to produce high-quality work efficiently. This person should be comfortable spending significant time on the shop floor, working alongside the team, identifying problems, making decisions, and helping improve production processes.

Pay:
