2nd Shift Production Supervisor Sprecher Brewing Company Inc Glendale, WI Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Qualifications Food processing plant experience Team leadership Manufacturing facility experience Managing food or beverage production teams Full Job Description Job Description The Operational Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) at Sprecher Brewing Company will report to the Plant Manager and will lead the operations of our production lines at our manufacturing facility in Glendale, WI. This individual will oversee all aspects of operations with a strong focus on mechanical operations and troubleshooting. Responsibilities Assist, train, and lead teams of machine operators to efficiently produce Sprecher's award-winning craft beers and sodas while ensuring safe and reliable machine operation. Operate and oversee the operation of machinery as needed based on staffing and business needs, ensuring all equipment runs optimally. Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues with production machinery and work closely with the maintenance team to resolve equipment failures swiftly and effectively. Ensure the ongoing maintenance and calibration of all production equipment, supporting a preventive maintenance culture. Provide leadership in the areas of safety, morale, quality, cost, and operations, with a specific focus on maintaining machinery in peak working conditions. Assist the Production Supervisor using ADP to manage employees, track attendance, time off, and document any disciplinary actions. Complete daily documentation and checklists for equipment maintenance, quality control, production tracking, and cleanliness. Create a culture of respect, teamwork, and effectiveness while ensuring machinery downtime is minimized. Actively participate in workforce training, scheduling, and employee development to foster high-performing, mechanically skilled teams. Attend and actively participate in all production and scheduling meetings, ensuring mechanical capabilities and limitations are considered. Control production schedules and packaging needs to achieve daily and weekly production goals, coordinating closely with the maintenance team to avoid equipment-related disruptions. Build effective alliances with other business units (Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Safety, and Quality) to ensure alignment with company priorities. Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and any/all established processes, with an emphasis on equipment functionality and safety. Maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring that machinery and equipment meet safety standards and that employees are trained on mechanical safety protocols. Regularly assess workplace safety and coordinate with management to address and remedy any unsafe mechanical conditions. Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a food manufacturing or similar setting; preference given to brewery or beverage experience with strong mechanical equipment handling. Proven experience in managing machine operators, with the ability to train teams on the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment. Solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery. Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with mechanical operations. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Self-directed, personally motivated, and strong attention to detail, particularly regarding the mechanical functioning of equipment. Experience working effectively with leadership teams, key stakeholders, and employees to foster a positive and mechanically proficient culture. Elevated awareness of mechanical safety precautions and equipment hazards for self and others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring optimal machine performance and meeting production expectations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with employees, managers, and other stakeholders. Forklift certified or willingness to become certified. Ability to ensure proper use of PPE and mechanical safety measures for all team members. Physical Requirements Ability to perform all essential functions and physical demands of the job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs. Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer. Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors and ability to continuously be active including but not limited to: walking, stooping, bending, reaching and crouching.
