Job Summary We are seeking dependable Salmon Trimmers to join our seafood processing team. This position is located in a fish processing facility where fresh salmon is received, processed, and prepared for distribution. Employees should be comfortable working around raw fish, seafood odors, moisture, and refrigerated temperatures throughout their shift. As a Salmon Trimmer, you will perform the final quality inspection of salmon fillets before the skinning process by removing any remaining pin bones, scales, and imperfections. Your attention to detail is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest quality, food safety, and production standards. Previous experience in seafood processing or food production is preferred but not required. We are willing to train reliable candidates with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Remove trays of salmon fillets from racks and place them on the production line. Inspect fillets for remaining pin bones, scales, and other imperfections. Trim and prepare salmon fillets for the skinning process. Keep the production line supplied with product to maintain workflow. Handle raw seafood safely while following food safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area. Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines. Support quality standards and production goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Previous seafood processing, food production, manufacturing, or warehouse experience is a plus, but not required. Comfortable working in a fish processing facility around raw seafood and strong fish odors. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Reliable attendance and a positive attitude. Willingness to follow all food safety and sanitation procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent repetitive use of hands and arms. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Comfortable working in a cold, refrigerated production environment. Ability to work around raw fish, water, ice, and seafood odors for the duration of the shift. Ability to maintain production line speed while meeting quality expectations. Work Environment This position is performed in a refrigerated fish processing facility. Employees should expect to work around raw salmon, seafood odors, wet floors, and production equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required while working in production areas.
