Because our products are highly customized, no two customer orders are necessarily the same. Position Overview We are looking for a detail oriented individual to join our office team. This position combines customer service and order entry with a strong understanding of our manufacturing process. The right candidate does not need to know the corrugated industry when they start, but they must be able and willing to learn how a product moves through our company, from customer order and specifications, to production, and finally shipping. This is not a traditional customer service or data-entry position. The ability to understand specifications, work with measurements and numbers, solve problems, and adapt to different customer requirements is essential. Responsibilities Enter and process customer purchase orders accurately Review orders and specifications for accuracy and completeness Communicate with customers regarding order details and requirements Create and build new items and specifications (work tickets) in our system Assist with developing specifications for new or unique products Understand how customer requirements translate into a manufactured product Work with the office, production, warehouse, and shipping teams to ensure orders move through the process correctly Process material releases from the warehouse Assist with purchasing materials including foam, partitions, chipboard, and other packaging components Communicate with vendors regarding material availability and lead times Maintain accurate records and information in our systems Troubleshoot discrepancies and adapt to changing customer and production requirements Qualifications Strong understanding of basic math, including fractions, decimals, and sixteenths Comfortable working with dimensions, quantities, and specifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer requirements Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems Excellent communication skills Ability to understand and learn a manufacturing process from order entry through finished product and shipping Previous experience in manufacturing, purchasing, estimating, order entry, or a similar environment is a plus Corrugated or packaging experience is a plus, but not required The ideal candidate is someone who likes to understand how things work, is comfortable working with numbers and details, and can think beyond simply entering an order into a computer.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
