Job Description

Job Description Operate Flexographic presses. This includes setting up the press with plates and inks to produce quality print at established productivity, and recording production information as required, cleaning the presses, and directing the work of the press helper to assist in these responsibilities.
Shift:
12-Hour Straight Night Shift on a 2-2-3 schedule (7p7a) Job Duties Inspect cylinders and initiate any necessary corrective maintenance. Inspect and mount plates. Insure that proper inks are utilized as required. Insure that correct films are laced in press, as required by order. Establish proper register, ink-lay and trueness to color. Run press at required productivity rates while maintaining quality levels. Check quality of each completed roll and adjust as required. Keep running inventory of weights printed and scrap weight. Report all maintenance requirements, quality problems, and operating problems to shift Supervisor. Assist in changing cylinders, washing up, and assembling material for next scheduled order. Assist in training other operators and helpers as may be required. Make transactions in S.A.P. system as required. Other duties as may be required by Press Area Management Maintain proper housekeeping. In performing all job duties, safe work practices must be maintained. Understand and comply with responsibilities within Plant Quality System (ISO). Follow all Product Safety guidelines and procedures. Follows and uses Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Knows and maintains respective role in Food Safety. Requirements Strong mechanical aptitude, demonstrated by either successful completion of formal mechanical training, previous successful employment utilizing mechanical skills, or other documentable mechanical experience Able to work under stress; able to meet deadlines Good attendance Willing to work overtime on short notice. Basic math skills and use of calculator. Must be able to write legibly. Meets the essential functions of the job. Physically fit per routine "at risk" physical.
