Sample Maker Role Keystone Display designs, engineers and manufactures wire and metal point of purchase displays and merchandisers for product marketers throughout the United States. Among our many clients are Wrigley, Sherwin-Williams, Stanley and ITW. These companies use our displays to merchandise their products in retailers such as Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Menards, as well as convenience stores, grocery chains and various other sales channels. We are adding a Sample Maker to our staff.

His/her role would include:

Build sample and prototype wire and sheet metal displays from concept drawings and engineering prints Operate CNC fabrication equipment, tube laser, tube bender and press brake to cut, bend and form sample and prototype components Perform MIG welding and resistance (spot) welding to assemble sample fixtures, displays and prototypes Work closely with the Design/Engineering team to translate concept drawings into functional, manufacturable samples Attend daily Sample Meetings and provide feedback on fit, function and production feasibility Troubleshoot and refine sample builds ahead of production hand-off Support production and assembly fixture builds as needed Some of the requirements and aptitudes for this position are: Attend daily Sample Meetings Ability to read prints, use various measurement devices, and work in Excel Hands-on experience operating CNC fabrication equipment Proficiency in MIG welding and resistance/spot welding Experience operating a tube laser, tube bender and press brake Wire and sheet metal fabrication experience necessary Good communication skills- writing, speaking and listening Willingness to be hands-on in working through solutions, training in the plant and interacting with others Able to establish a good balance of understanding and recognizing Keystone's strengths, weaknesses and limitations, and of working with the team to expand capabilities Ability to manage his/her time and set priorities Ability to build samples that meet customer requirements AND can also be manufactured efficiently and cost effectively by our plant equipment within our systems Ability to meet deadlines, handle pressure and deal with customers with challenging expectations Strong attention to detail and ability to follow-up on proper project execution Willingness to work independently and as a member of a team Experience with fabricating processes: 1-3 years (preferred) Experience operating CNC fabrication equipment: 1-3 years (required) Experience with MIG welding: 1-3 years (required) Experience with resistance/spot welding: 1-3 years (preferred) Experience operating a tube laser, tube bender and press brake: 1-3 years (preferred) The purpose of this role is to support the Sales and Design teams by building sample and prototype displays, and to support factory operations with assembly and quality fixture development. We hire people to be long-term employees. With that in mind, we expect that a person filling this position will be training full time for several weeks and part time for succeeding months. Although the training is structured, much of it will be self-directed, and will include hands-on work in various areas of the Company. Pay:

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour
