Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM No weekends Job Description Hercules Sheet Metal & Metal Buildings is looking for a dependable, hardworking Purlin Line Helper / Production Helper to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on production position working alongside our purlin line operator. The primary responsibility will be safely handling finished purlins as they come off the production line, stacking them correctly, banding completed bundles, and labeling material for customer orders and jobs. No previous purlin-line experience is required. We are willing to train someone who shows up, works hard, follows safety procedures, and wants to learn. This position also has room for growth. We are looking for someone who is interested in learning how the purlin line operates and, over time, learning the setup and operation of the equipment. Responsibilities Work alongside the purlin line operator during production Safely catch and handle purlins as they come off the production line Lift and properly stack purlins into organized bundles Keep purlins aligned and organized as bundles are built Band completed bundles securely Label bundles accurately for customer orders and jobs Verify material is organized correctly before it leaves the production area Assist the purlin line operator as needed during production Help maintain an organized and clean production area Follow all safety procedures around machinery and moving steel Inspect material while handling it and report any obvious quality issues Learn Hercules' purlin products, sizes, materials, and production processes Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position. Purlins can be long and heavy, and this job requires repetitive lifting and handling of steel throughout the workday.

Applicants must be able to:

Regularly lift and handle heavy steel purlins Perform repetitive lifting, carrying, stacking, and positioning of material Work on their feet throughout the workday Bend, reach, lift, and move safely throughout the shift Work safely around moving machinery, steel, forklifts, and manufacturing equipment Work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold depending on the weather Safety is extremely important in this position. We need someone who stays aware of their surroundings, follows instructions, and does not take shortcuts around machinery or heavy material. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and comes to work on time Hardworking and willing to stay productive throughout the day Safety-conscious Physically capable of handling heavy material Able to listen and follow instructions Able to work well with the purlin line operator and other production employees Willing to learn Interested in developing additional skills and taking on more responsibility Manufacturing, steel, warehouse, construction, or other physically demanding work experience is a plus, but not required.
