Job Description

  • The General Production Worker operates and monitors production machinery, supports daily manufacturing activities, and helps ensure products meet quality and safety standards.

This role involves setting up and feeding machines, performing in-process inspections, packaging finished goods, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area. The position offers hands-on training, opportunities to build mechanical and manufacturing skills, and the chance to contribute directly to meeting production goals.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Set up production machines correctly and ensure they are fed with materials to prevent jams and downtime.

+ Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and adjust settings to optimize production efficiency and product quality.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measurements to maintain accuracy during production and assembly tasks.

+ Perform in-process quality checks and verify that all products meet specified standards and customer requirements.

+ Use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers to confirm product dimensions and tolerances.

+ Accurately record production and inspection data to maintain clear and complete documentation.

+ Bundle and package finished products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for each order.

+ Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support production, assembly, and mechanical tasks.

+ Inspect parts and assemblies visually and with tools to identify defects or nonconformities.

+ Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, and process improvements to team members and supervisors in a timely manner.

+ Follow all workplace safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye, ear, face, and foot protection.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to support safety and efficiency.

+ Assist in maintaining and improving safety protocols by reporting hazards and suggesting improvements.

+ Work collaboratively with fellow team members to meet daily and weekly production goals.

+ Participate in ongoing training and skill development to advance within the company and improve performance.

+ Take initiative to learn new processes, tools, and methods to enhance efficiency and product quality.

+ Support general labor tasks such as lifting, moving materials, and standing at workstations for extended periods as needed.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in working with machines and tools.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measurements accurately.

+ Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.

+ Experience or comfort with production, machine operation, general labor, and general production tasks.

+ Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a production environment.

+ Capability to perform inspection tasks and verify product quality using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.

+ Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

+ Familiarity with

ISO 9001

quality standards or a willingness to learn and follow these standards.

+ Ability to lift 25-50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.

+ Ability to stand for extended periods of time while performing production and assembly tasks.

+ Commitment to following safety procedures and using required PPE, including eye, ear, face, and foot protection.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment is helpful but not required.

+ Comfort working with mechanical equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

+ Attention to detail when performing measurements, inspections, and documentation.

+ Willingness to receive ongoing training and cross-train in new processes and equipment.

+ Ability to adapt to changing production demands and learn new tasks quickly.

+ Reliability and strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is based in a production facility with a team of approximately 10-15 existing shop employees and plans to add around 14 additional team members.

The environment requires the use of safety gear, including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and other personal protective equipment such as face and foot protection while on the production floor. You will work around industrial machinery and processes, with exposure to high temperatures, sparks, dust, industrial fumes, and varying noise levels. Strict safety protocols are in place, and all employees must follow them to maintain a secure and compliant workplace. The position involves significant standing, lifting, and manual handling throughout the shift. Multiple shifts are available, including a Monday-Thursday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a Monday-Thursday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and a weekend schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

  • This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
