The Production and Shipping Assistant supports the day-to-day production, inventory, packing, and shipping functions of The Columbia Fragrance Co. The role helps maintain accurate finished-goods inventory, prepares products according to established formulas and quality standards, and ensures customer orders are packed accurately and shipped on time.
General duties include:
Inventory management
Review finished-goods inventory, identify products below established stock levels, and prioritize production needed to restore full inventory levels.
Spray and fragrance oil production
Prepare bottles and components; measure, blend, and hand pour sprays and fragrance oils according to established formulas and batch instructions; cap and inspect finished products.
Candle production
Prepare and wick jars, measure and prepare candle materials, hand pour candles, and complete required finishing steps according to established production procedures.
Labeling and stocking
Apply the correct labels to finished products, verify product and label accuracy, and place completed inventory on the appropriate stock shelves.
Production tracking
Record completed production, quantities, and other required batch information promptly and accurately in the production tracking system.
Supply requests
Monitor production materials, packaging components, labels, and other supplies; identify upcoming needs; and submit supply requests before materials run out.
Production area care
Keep production equipment, tools, work surfaces, and inventory areas clean, orderly, and ready for use. Follow all handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Shipping
Complete a final order audit to confirm each shipment is addressed to the correct customer and matches the order and packing slip. Prepare packages for shipment and apply mailing labels accurately.
Order fulfillment and packing
Gather the correct products for each order, verify items and quantities against the packing slip, pack orders securely, and purchase and print shipping labels.
Other duties as assigned.

Maintain strict confidentiality of client and personnel information.
Maintain strict confidentiality of intellectual property of The Columbia Fragrance Co.
, including formulas and product development.
General skills required:
Ability to stand and work on feet for long stretches of time.
Basic computer and internet skills, including the ability to update production and inventory tracking records.
Ability to lift twenty pounds.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written formulas, measurements, production procedures, and quality standards consistently.
Ability to perform careful, repetitive hands-on work while maintaining accuracy and product quality.
Ability to stay organized, recognize low inventory or supply levels, and communicate needs proactively.
Hours per week:
As needed.
Rate of pay:
$17 per hour. Additional hours may be required due to seasonal sales volume. Flexibility in scheduling may be required. All work takes place in a smoke-free home environment.
