Job Description:

Compensation:

$50-60/hr This is a 6 month contract. We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Configuration Specialist to enhance system integrity and supply chain accuracy within our ERP environment.

In this role, you will audit, correct, and optimize component data, ensuring standardized part numbering, accurate manufacturer attribution, and precise Bills of Materials (BOMs). You will play a key role in aligning internal planning with purchasing by streamlining item master records and resolving structural data discrepancies. Responsibilities Audit ERP item records to identify off-the-shelf components lacking complete vendor or manufacturer metadata and update them accordingly. Eliminate distributor-specific part entries by transitioning item masters to standardized original manufacturer designations. Locate, merge, and clean up duplicate part entries across the database to maintain a single source of truth. Revise and restructure Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reflect consolidated part numbers and correct Make-vs.-Buy indicators. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations teams to balance competing task priorities and support procurement needs. Proactively suggest and execute workflow enhancements to prevent data drift and improve long-term system health.

Qualifications Experience:

5+ years in data governance, configuration management, or technical documentation within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Systems Expertise:

Hands-on experience navigating enterprise ERP/MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar platform).

Technical Proficiency:

Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference engineering drawings and schematics.

Software Skills:

Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfortable with collaboration platforms like Point.

Change Management:

Firm grasp of engineering change notices (ECNs), revision controls, and lifecycle management workflows.
