Seeking a dependable and reliable employee to fill immediate full-time opening for Grinder in a cast iron foundry. Must be able to work from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Thursday, with overtime on Fridays when needed. Must be 18 or older. Great benefits available after 90 days. Grinder Company Description:
We are a cast iron foundry—we use tooling to make sand molds that we fill with liquid iron. The parts we make cover a wide variety of industries including power generation, material handling, and even replica parts for museums. The parts we make move the world and we believe our team represents the best of West Michigan's manufacturing. This position is for grinding on castings and requires the use of handheld grinding tools, snag wheels, band saws, etc.
Rate:
$15-$17 starting, potential for increase at 90 days.
Job Type:
Full-Time, Monday-Thursday 7:00-5:30, overtime on Friday as needed
Job Duties:
Grinds, inspects and cleans castings. Break off/cut off castings, sort scrap and gating for remelting, refills remelt bins for the melt department, department clean-up. Grinders use hand tools, snag wheels, belt sanders, band saws, and more to clean up parts. Move parts with a forklift. General labor as required. Will train as required. Qualification Requirements:
Manufacturing experience needed Grinding and metal finishing a plus Ability to follow instructions Cross-training to work in multiple areas of the shop Must be able to lift 50 lbs Must have dependable transportation High school diploma or GED necessary
Experience:
General labor: 1 year (Preferred) General labor and grinding skills: 1 year (Preferred)
