This position involves operating equipment, following instructions for mixing materials, checking quality, and keeping the process running smoothly. The right candidate should be mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn. Essential Duties- Operate and monitor equipment used to mix and prepare materials for paper production.
- Measure and combine materials according to instructions.
- Check materials throughout the process to make sure they meet quality requirements.
- Make adjustments as needed to keep production running properly.
- Make sure prepared materials are available when needed for production.
- Perform basic quality checks and complete required paperwork.
- Recognize and report equipment problems, quality concerns, or unsafe conditions.
- Help coordinate daily work in the department and assist other employees as needed.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow work instructions, safety rules, and required procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred; paper mill experience is not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate industrial equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions, measure materials, and perform basic math.
- Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.
- Ability to learn new processes and work effectively with others.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
