Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role involves operating production equipment to properly melt and transfer butter to designated holding tanks while minimizing product loss through careful draining. You will support a fast-paced production line by performing general labor tasks, monitoring equipment, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Melt butter using production equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Transfer melted product to the correct holding tanks while ensuring accurate handling and minimal product loss. Properly drain tanks and equipment to reduce waste and maintain product quality. Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently as part of the general production process. Perform general labor tasks such as loading, packaging, packing, and material handling as needed. Assist with operating forklifts or other material handling equipment to move products and materials, if trained and authorized. Inspect products and materials for quality, identifying defects or issues and reporting them promptly. Support troubleshooting of basic production or equipment issues by identifying irregularities and notifying the appropriate personnel. Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete daily production tasks. Record production information and other required data legibly and accurately for record-keeping purposes. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and maintain workflow. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards. Essential Skills Ability to follow directions and carry out instructions accurately. Ability to effectively work in a team environment and collaborate with coworkers. Ability to legibly write entries for production and quality record keeping. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand instructions, safety information, and documentation. Comfort working in a production facility environment that can become warm and has a noticeable product-related smell. Basic ability to operate or learn to operate production machinery and equipment. Attention to detail to minimize product loss and ensure proper draining and transfer of materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general production, general labor, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with machine operation, machine operating, and troubleshooting basic equipment issues. Experience with packaging, packing, and inspection activities in a production setting. Experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, if applicable. Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and procedures as production needs evolve. Why Work Here? You may use equipment such as production machines, holding tanks, and potentially forklifts or other material handling tools, depending on training and assignment. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and food-related environment is required, with adherence to all safety and hygiene guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Winthrop, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
