Full Job Description Description:
Reports to: Plant Manager Company Overview Calcium Products has been helping farmers grow better crops for nearly 40 years. As a leader in calcium-based fertilizers, we manufacture 98G pelletized limestone and SO4 pelletized gypsum for a wide network of ag retailers across the Midwest. We are a stable, growing, people-focused company that takes pride in the work we do and the customers we serve. As we continue to invest in our Iowa facilities, we are also expanding our footprint with new locations, including a new plant in Blair, Nebraska. To support this long-term growth, we are now recruiting a Plant Operator-Night Shift position for the Blair facility (5pm-5am).
  • Anticipated Start Date is first week of November for this position
  • Expect two weeks of hands-on operational training in Fort Dodge, IA.
  • Position summary & purpose: The Production Operator plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
This position is responsible for maintaining production flow, monitoring equipment performance, and contributing to the overall quality and consistency of finished products. The purpose of this role is to help meet production goals while upholding safety standards, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Production Operator works collaboratively with team members and leadership to identify operational improvements, address equipment issues proactively, and ensure products are prepared accurately for shipment and delivery. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliability, accountability, and the ability to operate both light and heavy equipment effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
Requirements:
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Operate equipment including loaders and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner Inspect, monitor, and perform routine maintenance on machinery such as screens, mills, and load-out systems Prepare products for loading, shipment, and delivery Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace Follow all safety policies and operational procedures
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Demonstrated ability to safely operate light and heavy equipment
