Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, has an opening at their Dunkirk, NY facility. We produce semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries.

Production Equip Operator Shift:

If you're ready to work hard and learn, we will train you. Position Overview Production Workers support daily steel manufacturing operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This is a physically active role in a heavy industrial environment requiring teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate steel production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
• Load, unload, and transport steel materials (coils, bars, sheets, structural components)
• Perform quality inspections using measuring devices and tools
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals
• Collaborate with all levels on 5S projects throughout the plant

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior manufacturing or industrial experience preferred, but not required
• Willingness to complete company-paid training programs
• Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Stand and move for extended periods Compensation The starting hourly wage range for this position is: $20
• $22.

50 per hour, based on placement within the union wage scale. Employees progress through a structured wage schedule outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Pay increases are tied to training completion and job level.

Shift Differentials:
