Food Production Teammate - Commissary

Job Description

Pay starts at $20.00-$23.00 per hour.



SUMMARY

Shift time: 4:00AM-12:30PM Supports accurate, efficient, and safe packaging of ready-to-eat (RTE) products in the commissary. Ensures finished food items are properly portioned, sealed, labeled, and prepared for distribution while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and sanitation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pack RTE items according to batch specifications, packaging requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Operate basic packaging equipment (e.g., sealers, labelers, portioners) in accordance with safety and food handling protocols.
  • Verify product weights, portion sizes, labeling, and packaging integrity.
  • Assemble packaging components and ensure availability at workstations.
  • Assist with final boxing, palletizing, and staging of finished goods for shipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized packaging stations and adhere to sanitation and allergen control procedures.
  • Complete packaging logs, lot tracking forms, and cleaning checklists as required.
  • Communicate product discrepancies, equipment issues, or production delays to supervisors promptly.
  • Support prep and ingredient staging as needed.
  • Follow all GMPs, PPE requirements, and food safety protocols at all times.
  • Report any food safety, quality, or GMP concerns to Supervisors or FSQA immediately.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior experience required; commissary or food production experience is a plus.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete basic documentation.
  • Willingness to work in cold, wet, or variable temperature environments.
  • Dependable attendance and positive team attitude required.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of food handling and packaging standards.
