Production Operator - Fertilizer Plant

Job Description

The Control Room Operator is at the center of daily plant operations. This role uses computerized control systems to coordinate production, monitor material flow, support quality, and keep orders moving safely and accurately. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys technology, problem-solving, teamwork, and taking ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is referred to as Control Room Operator internally. 1.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 1.
Operate and monitor computerized plant-control systems used for fertilizer blending, material handling, and loading operations. 2. Review production schedules, blend information, product requirements, and work priorities before starting each order. 3. Monitor material flow, equipment status, weights, alarms, and process conditions; respond quickly to abnormalities or interruptions. 4. Verify that the correct raw materials, formulations, packaging, labels, and lot information are used and accurately documented. 5. Troubleshoot routine equipment, control-system, inventory, and production issues; stop and escalate when safety, quality, or product integrity may be affected. 6. Communicate production status, delays, changes, and customer needs clearly to the appropriate team members. 7. Complete production, quality, inventory, regulatory, and equipment documentation accurately and on time. 8. Perform equipment and area inspections, report unsafe conditions, and help maintain a clean and organized workplace. 9. Support plant operations as needed, including operating a front-end loader and assisting production teams during high-demand periods. 10. Performs other duties as assigned by the production manager. 2.

Arrive to work and meetings on time and prepared. 12. Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner. 13. Perform any other duties assigned by your manager. 14. Respond promptly to customer needs. 15. Maintain confidentiality of business, customer & personnel matters. 16. Communicate changes and progress to manager. 17. Follow instructions, respond to management direction. 18. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. 19. Adapt to changes in the work environment. 20. Maintain a positive attitude. 21. Follow policies and procedures. 22. Efficient use of company resources to create added value. 23. Observe safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials properly. 24. Promote teamwork within your department, location, and company 3.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- a. High school diploma and 3 years of related experience specifically in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience b. Ability to read, interpret and effectively follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals c. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) d. Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications in English e. Ability to analyze and solve problems f. Ability to work with others collaboratively g. Strong organizational skills 4.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- a. Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired b. Manufacturing experience c. Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience d. Bilingual in Spanish (speak, read, write) e. Safety and EPA conscious as well as protective over company property and equipment
Pay:
$24.00 - $33.65 per hour
